Internet Spam, and spoofs
1) Do not respond to suspicious spammed emails. A response only confirms the accuracy of your email address, and may result in even more messages filling up your In-box.2) If you are suspicious, do not click on the link asking to be taken off the sender's list, as the senders often use that as a ploy to confirm the recipient's address, resulting in even more spammed email.
3) Never submit your credit card details or other personal information to non-secure Web sites (there should be a locked padlock icon that appears in yellow, or in a yellow box, on the bottom bar of the order form Web browser).
4) Use spam filtering or spam blocking software.
5) Do not send your email address through chat rooms, instant message services or Internet bulletin boards and newsgroups.
6) Do not open email with attachments, and be cautious of email announcing a purchase you did not make for any product.
7) Do not click links in unsolicited emails. This is a way to trick you, into giving personal information
8) When visiting a site check it out, you may do so thru the Alexa toolbar's site info link.
THE MYSTIC TAROT AND INTERNET SCAMS
1) Be wary of false copies of The Mystic Tarot software offers that come from a source not recognized as a legitimate reseller (see below).
2) Report suspicious online promotions of The Mystic Tarot branded software by e-mail to themystictarotpc at yahoo.com.
3) You may also connect with the local contact of the Business Software Alliance (check the contacts list at www.bsa.org). In the US, you can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) about a spam email that you have received. Visit the FTC online to file a complaint, or forward the spam email to the FTC for investigation.
4) If you are referred by a website to an online store for The Mystic Tarot, make sure you are ordering from one of our approved stores. No authorized affiliate has the right to sale The Mystic Tarot directly, avoid any such purchase, buy only thru one of our authorized sites when referred by one of our trusted affiliates.
